5 tips to improve at Rocket League
Still as popular as ever, gaining new players all the time, Rocket League is action packed and addictive.
New players get hooked on the fast pace and the simple rules, however playing along side the long time players it can be difficult to know how they perform so much better.
Some simple steps can help you improve and become a master at Rocket League.
- Practice mode
Take advantage of practice mode, getting familiar with the mechanics of the game, the basic controls and the camera angles. You can change the distance, field of view and the angle of the camera view, seeing more of the field can be very advantageous. Try out as much as possible and find the settings you prefer. - Boosting
Boosts run out so fast, and although they do regenerate quickly there will be lots of time you need a boost and don’t have any left. Try to conserve your boosts, you can lunge forward by pushing forward and hitting jump twice which can increase your speed significantly without using your boost. - Use the handbrake
The handbrake can be one of the most useful tools within Rocket League, allowing you to drift and spin quickly, getting you in the perfect position. - Learn rotation
When you are playing as a team it is much easier to control the game and this takes rotation. This means taking it in turns to push forward whilst other are defending. If others are pushing forward resit the urge to chase after the ball and defend the goal. - Pass instead of shooting
If your opponents are defending heavily don’t even try to shoot – unless you are playing against the most inexperienced, it will be blocked. Instead take the ball wide, up the wall and give your team mates a chance to get in a good position and then pass it so there can get in behind the defenders.
Remember it is just a game and have fun. There is a lot of anger out there and inappropriate chat, don’t add to that environment, if it gets too much, leave that match and join the next one.
